War in Syria: 6 ways to effectively help as victims

Let us assume our social responsibility to help transform the future of entire families desolated by the chaos and suffering of the war in Syria?

In this last week, the bloody war that swept through Syria took even more cruel proportions when news that relatives would rather kill each other to get rid of torture - both physical and sexual - came to the surface.

The desperation is so much that many women also committed suicide so as not to suffer from the trauma of the rape. According to data gathered by the UN, the conflict has already caused more than 400,000 victims, in addition to 4.5 million citizens who have been forced to leave their homes.

To date, around 10,000 citizens, many of them minors and critically ill, have left the outskirts of Aleppo, located in the north of the country,

The data were released in an official communiqué issued by the International Committee of the Red Cross, but the estimates are not optimistic: 50,000 individuals are still isolated in the eastern region of the municipality, without predicting when they will be able to leave.

Faced with so much chaos, suffering and despair, there are two possible attitudes: the first one, which clearly will not help these people, is to fold their arms. The second is to assume our social responsibility and help transform the future of entire families who are looking for something that, unfortunately, is no longer part of their lives: peace.

1. Help White Helmets

Headed by humanitarian leader Raed Al-Saleh, this organization is responsible for seeking and saving victims in rebel-controlled areas, including in Aleppo.

To date, 10,000 wounded have been rescued during the conflict. Members also perform, in addition to removing people from bombings and debris, the tasks of raising money for prostheses and psychological support to relatives of the dead.

2. Help Doctors Without Borders The organization supplies medical supplies to 158 hospitals located in eastern Aleppo, one of the areas hardest hit by the war, and attempts to maintain 6 medical facilities in the northern region of the country. By the intensification of the conflicts, the majority of these institutions are not being able to attend all the wounded. So donations are key.

3. Assist the International Rescue Committee The IRC, as it is known, is responsible for assisting people fleeing wars around the world, including Syrian refugees.

4. Help Save The Children This NGO is responsible for helping children and their families to escape the conflicts that affect them - both those who move in internally and those who leave for other countries.

5. Help the UN Refugee Agency, Migrant Relief Station and Questscope

Being forced to leave - sometimes without any prospect of change - your home is a recurring reality for most refugees around the world. The UN Refugee Agency is one of those responsible for providing education and resources essential for these children to return to their lives in another country.

Other organizations joining forces for the cause are the Migrant Relief Station and Questscope, the former assisting refugees from Jordan and the second helping refugees to cross the sea safely into Europe.

6. Assist the International Red Cross Movement The organization is assisting the withdrawal of wounded civilians - including women and children - from regions most susceptible to aerial bombers and ground attacks, mainly in Aleppo. For the redemptions to continue.
